Digital Menu Boards
Client: LEON | Role: Animation
Leon uses digital menu boards at two of their motorway service locations. The boards need to be engaging, quick to read, and they need to draw a customer’s attention to the correct place. Through animation we are able to put across a dish’s personality and notify customers of new dishes.
When working on the boards for each launch between Spring 2018 - Spring 2019, I took Leon’s existing core menu board design and edited it to work in a digital format by re-arranging the layout of boards and adding animations. The animations vary from highlighting the identity of a specific dish to rotating boards (e.g. cold drinks to coffees) to ensure customers see everything they have on offer without being overwhelmed by information.
Foodie Fact Sheet

Leon is one of the most open and supportive restaurants when it comes to dietary requirements, nutritional information and allergies. It is imperative that customers are able to make a well informed choice about the food they eat, and the Foodie Fact Sheet is there in each Leon Restaurant to enable this.
The Foodie Fact sheet is designed to be easy to use. The design uses minimal cross referencing (especially across a double page spread) for it’s information. Dishes are also kept in a simple column layout, so the reader only has short line lengths to digest, and doesn’t get visually confused switching between vertically read tables and columns.
The Foodie Fact Sheet contains important information for over a hundred menu items, and requires high attention to detail and a clear layout to serve its purpose efficiently and enjoyably.
